What is a spelling bee?
It’s a contest to see who can spell the best. What is Spelling Bee Morocco™ ? It's both a competition and an ESL resource. Jim Dana presents Regional Finals T-shirts to Team Heroines of Sidi Saleh High School in Tagounite, winners of the 2012 team championship.
Jim Dana and teacher Mohamed Maanaoui flank Firdaous Elbalaidi of Sidi Ahmed Bennacer HS in Zagora while classmates applaud her accomplishment. Firdaous finished 4th in last year's solo competition. She's eager to return this year to try to claim the championship trophy.
Tagounite's Sidi Saleh High School captured the 2012 Team Championship! Their team name was Team Heroines.
The 2012 Solo Winner was Ibtissam Boulaghmane of Moulay Baamran High School, Kalaa M'Gouna
The Spelling Bee Morocco™ competition consists of two spelling bees – a team spelling bee and a solo spelling bee. It’s a great way for Moroccan students to improve their English. It’s a lot of fun, and it provides a chance for students to gain recognition and win prizes. The Bee tab has all the details on the 2013 competition and how to register.
But Spelling Bee Morocco™ includes much more than the competition. At the other tabs you'll find useful and entertaining information about English for students and teachers. There are study tips, lesson plans, word lists, a blog about spelling and other wonders of the English language, and a page that provides information about programs for study abroad. This website provides a rich ESL resource for everyone all year long.
